Bophonysse debuts new collection "Atanssili N'Ajjar"

In a nod to the brand's Algerian and Berber heritage and as described by the designer Badra Cherfi the show was 'unconventional' as it disrupted typical conventions of the fashion WORLD by welcoming children to the audience and showcasing the collection at an event which is integral to the brand's heritage. Badra Cherfi also described the show as "breaking all rules and roles of fashion! not abiding by any standard! " and that "magic was created out of chaos".

The newest collection, 'Atanssili N'Ajjar's, is inspired by prehistoric cave art found in Tasilli n'Ajjer, a national park in the southeast of the Algerian Sahara. Tassili is home to a remarkable density of paintings and engravings which record climatic changes, animal migrations and the evolution of human life.

Bophanysses' new collection features eloquent expressions of a lost civilisation which have been brought back to life through couture garments made of luxurious fabrics, bold silhouettes and vibrant hues of gold and purple. The pieces in the collection are detailed with genuine gold leaf, golden thread, and paintings, making them unique and mesmerising.
