REVout Zine Has Officially Launched & Signals The beginning of a BRAND-NEW Fashion Revolution!

REVout Zine is Sudan’s first-ever Fashion Zine and propels previously overlooked creatives onto the global fashion map. Spotlighting 11 emerging designers working and creating in Sudan despite facing daily economic, political and social challenges since 2018, the Zine explores a multitude of themes beyond fashion and lifestyle. Hope and perseverance accompanied by visual displays and personal commentary takes the reader on a visual journey of Sudan’s beautiful diversity, uncovering the people’s energy, designs and resilience. REVout spreads the demand for democracy, freedom and women’s rights through the Sudanese belief that there is no alternative to reaching goals but through peace.

Made possible by Goethe-Institut Sudan under the umbrella of the EUNIC cluster and funded by the European Union in Sudan, the Zine is inspired by the desire to celebrate the progress of the “Moda Fashion Connects” project and its designers’ efforts in driving global recognition of the Sudanese fashion and arts scenes.

“Moda Fashion Connects”, is an extensive capacity-building programme by the Goethe-Institut Sudan. As they collaborated with a cross-cultural creative team, including the new partnership with Fashion Scout, the dedicated team behind this project learnt from each other, developed ideas and were able to tell inspiring stories of OPTIMISM and resistance you’ll discover in the new zine.

The project, led by Randa Hamid and her vision to showcase to the world the bustling talents from Sudan, brought together a creative team, guided by Ann McCreath and Harry Thane, who captured to light the new talent - designers presenting their first ever collections, models starting out their modelling careers, stylists, hair and make-up artists being published for the first time.

Fashion Scout was entrusted with the creative direction and consultancy for the making of this incredible Zine. This, together with their global networks and the sheer passion for empowering and showcasing the future of fashion, proved a perfect combination for collaboration. With this cross-cultural collaboration between such powerhouses of global change, we know REVout will place these emerging 11 Sudanese designers firmly as the latest ones to watch!
